Prayers for June 7, 2026

O God of promise and glory, we are here assembled in your holy name to offer our prayers knowing that you always listen. We are united and purified through baptism, and we ask that the Holy Spirit guide inspire us to share that purity with gentleness to promote harmony to all around us through acts of love and service.

Dear God of peace, your world is torn apart with war and conflict. We pray that leaders of nations will realize that such conflicts cause death and destruction for the people of your creation. We pray especially for an end to conflict in Ukraine, the Middle East, and Africa. Be with all those who are suffering and are in need of your care and comfort. 

God of grace, hear our prayer.

O beloved God of healing, we pray for your intercession to bring an end to the Ebola outbreak in Central Africa.  Be with the medical professionals who work ceaselessly to administer to the victims of this disease at great risk to their own health. For those afflicted, we pray that they will recover and look to a future without pain and suffering.

God of grace, hear our prayer.

O God of comfort, we pray for all who have been displaced through poverty or conflict and have become refugees in a foreign land. Let us through faith serve their needs for housing and food so that they may prosper. Bless them with your love, so that they might regain purpose and strength to overcome all their troubles. Whatever their ethnicity or race, let them look to you as the creator of all humanity and the source of all promise.

God of grace, hear our prayer.

Dear God of care, we ask for your blessings on all who suffer from physical or emotional distress. They daily encounter challenges and discomfort and are subject to depression and worry. Be with their caregivers who administer to their needs and provide them with comfort. We pray especially for those named on our prayer list and ask that they be strengthened through their ordeal.

God of grace, hear our prayer.

O God of mercy, we pray for all saints who have gone before us and now rest in peace. Be with their families and ease their grief at the sorrow of loss. At the same time, let their memories be a guide unto our own lives.

In all things, blessed God, let the Holy Spirit guide us to fulfill the teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ, who charged us to show love for all.
